I have many role models in my life, all of which have impact me in different ways. My parents, friends, teammates and coaches all bring a sense of inspiration and passion to my life. One person in particular that has influenced my athletic career as a rower is our Canada Games Coach, Ms. Young. I have scene and gotten to know Ms. Young around the rowing club over the years as I came up through the program, but this summer is certainly a highlight for me as I get to train with her directly. Our Woman's team is training with her 2-3 times a day, 6 days a week. In other words, we spend a lot of time together! She is constantly demanding more from everyone of us as athletes and as citizens, but she is there to support us every step of the way. She is a very humble person, especially about her achievements as a rower. She rowed for Team Canada in the 1976 Olympics in Montreal and the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Her passion and drive is contagious which inspires us to want to excel and achieve our own goals in athletics and beyond.
I played in the 2011 Canada Winter Games for the Team New Brunswick Ice Hockey Team.
